Tarheel Blue and Green
I’m Renee Garner, a North Carolina native, born and raised; I’ve traveled but never lived anywhere else. Through my years here, I’ve watched NC change in the bigger scope of things, a little less Jesse Helms and a little more artsy/crafty, and I’m pretty proud of that. I like feeling and seeing the change. As an artist, the change makes me feel more confident in my ability to make a living doing what I love, while staying situated in one of the most naturally inspiring places I’ve ever seen.
Some of the best reasons to live in North Carolina, aside from the reasonable cost of living, are the temperate climate and easy access to the breathtaking resources. So that, my friends, is why I’m here. I’ll point out some local resources, show you ways to green up your life, and ask you how you’re giving the environment a little break in the age of Yeti sized carbon footprints.
