A Christmas Street Style
Hold the presses. We have one final post before we sign off for the holidays ….
As much as I would love to say this was just a run of the mill regular ole’ egg nog party, I couldn’t do that to these fine folks, or myself. This, dear friends, was Denise & Rob’s 7th annual ugly holiday sweater party. Hang on to your Santa hats, there are some pretty amazing sweaters waiting for you.

Liz, 25 & Randy, 26 – Greensboro NC
“My style is kind of like your cool great aunt’s…the one that drinks a
lot. I like bold colors, beads, sequins, ruffles and big costume jewelry.”
“This is obviously a great sweater. But the holiday spirit didn’t stop there.”

Matt, 28 – Raleigh, NC
“This IS a holiday sweater. No matter what anyone else says. It is NOT a kitchen themed sweater unless it a kitchen during the holiday themed sweater. There is a bowl of holiday green apples, and holiday rolling pin, with a holiday pepper grinder, tea cup and teapot. Holiday sweater. There.”

Stephanie, 28 & Bob, 28 – Raleigh NC
“Two patterns are always better than one.”
“Steph picked out this beauty for me. I love it because it matches my eyes. And my jeans. We wondered if this was once a navy blue sweater that has been loved by sun for many decades, but either way, I love it now.”

Bliss, 28 & Thurston, 29 – Raleigh NC
“This beut was found at the Cause for Paws thrift store on South Saunders. I love that thrift store because everything is always on sale. Which makes it even easier to stock up on junk I don’t have room for. I would like to note that this sweater came with about one pound of beaded work and shoulder pads. *taking a bow for the obivous applause* The skirt was self made, leggings from target and boots also from a thrift store.
P.S. Steph and I won for best couple!”
“Had there been a catigory for ‘most likely to appear on the Arsenio Hall show’ this one would have won. Bliss picked this up for me when she got hers. She knew I’d be down with the leather stripes on the chest. Who wouldn’t.”

Sally, 28 – Raleigh NC & Paul, 31 – Chapel Hill, NC
“Lavender and sage are the new red and green.”
“Cats are back.”

Denise, 29 – Raleigh NC
“Too bad my socks didn’t make it into this shot. They were very festive too. This sweater is great because it has teddy bears. And I’d like to think that the white top portion represents snow-covered shoulders, instead of rain, which is what we got. No hostess should go without a holiday apron (self made) and this fantastic egg nog bowl (and matching cups) came from Rob’s aunt. It was the perfect prop.

Rob, 29 – Raleigh, NC
“I know what you’re thinking. It doesn’t get any better than this. And you’re right. Let it be noted that this holiday printed turtle neck is not a turtle neck at all, but a dickie. Remember those? The sweater represents a scene I saw once as a kid. I still believe in Santa by the way. And the amzing pants belong to my dad when we was in college. It’s hard not to wear them everyday.”

And just so no one holiday sweater doesn’t feel left out, here was our end of party group shot on denise & rob’s front porch. If you would like to use this as your holiday card next year, I think I can get everyone on board. Merry Christmas!
