Fiddler on the Roof

While you may have been spending time with your sweetheart this past Valentine’s Day, I was sick and bundled up on the couch. Lest you think this sad or depressing, I got loads of stitching done and discovered that Turner Classic Movies is playing 31 Days of Movies that have won Oscars!

Not only did I discover what Sophie’s Choice actually was, I also caught most of  Fiddler on the Roof. I have no idea how many times my parents made me watch this movie, but I had forgotten that I know all the words to all the songs. In fact, I still have “Tradition” in my head.

Don’t remember it? Here it is:

But why does this matter here?

Fiddler on the Roof, with Topol (who was Tevye in the 1971 film), will be at The Durham Performing Arts Center March 17-22! Not only is it a chance to sing both “Sunrise, Sunset” and “If I Were a Rich Man,” it’s also a chance to support the Durham Performing Arts Center. While you may have gone to see a band play live, when was the last time you saw live theatre?

Even if you don’t want to sing along, you might want to consider checking out this production when it comes to town in March.
