House Tour: Casey & Rob

casey1

Tell us a little about yourselves:

I am a coffee shop manager at The Morning Times and Rob is an intern architect at Vernacular Studios. I also have a side gig as an artist painting creatures. Recently, I moved into a permanent studio at artspace. We have a chihuahua named Diablo and two small mutts, Pico and Augie.

How would you describe your decorating style?:

Our style is mid century modern on a budget.

Do you collect anything, if so how do you display it?

I collect vinyl toys, big eyed figurines, baby deer ceramics, and local art. I display my critters on ikea shelving. Art hangs wherever it works.

What inspires your decorating sensibility?

Obviously, I’m a fan of apartment therapy and other design blogs for inspiration, but I really just buy pieces that I like and try to fit them into my space. I love color and clutter, but Rob is more of a minimalist, so our space reflects that compromise.

Some of our favorite local spots:

Askew Taylor Paints, The Morning Times, Sosta Cafe, Sadlack’s, The Foundation, Rebus Works, and The Rialto.
