Shoko Teruyama

shoko1

Today I wanted to share the work of potter, Shoko Teruyama. When I stumbled across her work it was love at first site. Shoko creates breathtakingly beautiful handbuilt earthenware pottery out of her Marshall, NC studio. Twisting vine patterns and birds frequently decorate her intimate forms. Her work is featured in galleries throughout North Carolina, including the Penland School of Crafts Gallery, Blue Spiral in Asheville, and Design Gallery in Burnsville. Shoko’s next event in North Carolina is the Mint Museum’s invitational pottery show in Charlotte on September 12.
